Diane Dubreuil, Plein Air

Last Thursday evening, I took a trip up to the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell for the Monthly Art Talk to hear Diane Dubreuil, a master plein air artist, speak about her one-month artist residency in Brittany, France and to see a slide show of her time in France, her finished works, and her sketches and journals which stood quite well on their own.  It was a very engaging session.  Her web site - - does not do justice to her works.  They really need to be seen in person.  The evening reinforced the urge to get outside to paint, on my own or with the Deb Arter class through Merrymeeting Adult Ed (we are two session into a six session program) or through plein air sessions being set up by Diane D.  Now if the darn rain would stop!!

Hi Joe! Thanks for the great review! You have some phenomenal work, also! I'll be in touch about painting out in the Hallowell area. We have a nice group wanting to go out. If you meet someone who wishes to join in, they may contact the Harlow Gallery and get on the e-mailing list. We are aiming at a June start time, and I'm thinking Mondays as several people commented on Monday being their most available painting day. The rain has been a problem. I went out the other day for two hours. Packed up my watercolors and got into the car minutes before a huge downpour. Best wishes,
